About HFDFCU

In 1937, a group of 11 Honolulu firefighters formed the Honolulu Firemen Federal Credit Union, which later became the Honolulu Fire Department Federal Credit Union – Hawaii’s only firefighter credit union!

Since then, we’ve grown to serve active and retired Honolulu Fire Department firefighters, civilian employees of Honolulu Fire Department, and all firefighters across the State of Hawaii.

As a federally-chartered, federally-insured financial cooperative, Honolulu Fire Department Federal Credit Union is a member-owned and member-governed financial institution. Overseen by a volunteer Board of Directors comprised of active credit union members, HFDFCU is built on and operated today on the principles of the entire credit union industry, which include:
